Audition Information
The primary outcome of the auditions is assignment to one of the Norwalk Youth Symphony ensembles. The audition is also important as an aid to the conductors in determining seating assignments.
Seating is not solely determined by ranking. Rather, it is done in the best interests of the individual musicians and the group as a whole.
Acceptance and placement decisions are at the sole discretion of the conductors' considerable professional judgment and are final.
Audition Schedule
The audition schedule for the 2010-11 season is as follows:
- Saturday, Aug 28 - Violin
- Monday, Aug 30 - Violin
- Tuesday, Aug 31 - Cello
- Wednesday, Sep 1 - Viola/Bass/Harp
- Thursday, Sep 2 - Brass/Percussion/Piano *
- Tuesday, Sep 7 - Woodwinds
* For the 2010-11 season NYS is inviting pianists to join our Percussion section.
