NYS continues to monitor the federal, state, and local guidelines during Covid-19. We are working with our conductors and Board of Directors to develop a plan for auditions in the event that in-person auditions are not possible. We will post more information as we have it.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN AUDITIONING FOR THE NORWALK YOUTH SYMPHONY.

The NYS Board of Directors is reviewing online audition platforms. We plan to have the guidelines and registration information for the Fall Auditions completed mid-June. At that time we will open registration.

The Norwalk Youth Symphony, founded in 1956, provides outstanding music education and performance opportunities to young musicians in 4th - 12th grade. Membership and placement are by audition only. Both new and returning members audition in the fall for the upcoming concert season. Auditions are judged by the conductors, to ensure correct placement according to individual ability. Audition registration for the 2019/20 season will open in mid-June .

Start your audition process by registering online as a: NEW STUDENT or RETURNING STUDENT.

Registration links will be available in mid-June.

SCHOOL PARTICIPATION and PRIVATE STUDY

NYS members are expected to participate and remain in good standing in their school’s instrumental programs, where they exist. Conflicts that prevent participation should be brought to the attention of the Executive Director. Good standing is determined by the school program. Members are also required to have private music lessons on their orchestral instrument. Additional NYS policies and procedures can be viewed here
