FREE COMMUNITY EVENT | Concerto Competition

The NYS sponsors a Concerto Competition every year for members of the Principal Orchestra. The winner of the competition is invited to perform a movement of a concerto with the Principal Orchestra at the Winter Concert. Come listen to the students hoping to win this coveted spot.

FREE COMMUNITY EVENT | Summer Music Fair

Norwalk Concert Hall at City Hall, 125 East Ave., Norwalk, CT 

The Norwalk Youth Symphony hosts an annual Summer Music Showcase in the lobby of Norwalk City Hall. The fair is geared toward families who want to learn more about summer music opportunities.  The fair features many local, regional, and national summer programs for young musicians. Camps range from local, part-time summer experiences, to sleep away camps, and conservatory programs.

Twice a year we open our rehearsals to interested students, parents and teachers to observe first hand the enriching experience NYS offers the young musician. Please join us at a typical Sunday rehearsal on April 26th from 2 to 4 pm. A special Question and Answer session will take place at 3 pm.

Spring Concert with Midori!

Norwalk Concert Hall at City Hall, 125 East Ave., Norwalk, CT 

The Spring Concert marks the end of the Norwalk Youth Symphony's concert season at Norwalk Concert Hall. This concert period we are honored to have Midori working with our ensembles and performing at the Spring Concert.

The concert traditionally includes the presentation of our graduating seniors and awarding of the Ramer Memorial Scholarship, which is granted to a deserving senior as chosen by their peers on the basis of leadership, commitment, preparation, and attendance.

Italy Performance Tour

Every two years members of Principal and Concert Orchestra have the opportunity to travel and perform on an International Tour. In 2020 NYS musicians will tour Italy - visiting Montecantini, Florence and Rome.
